Iron and Oak painted Encase Shirt
“Like a mist that enveloped the space with a trance-inducing euphoria that is not of the higher realms of the mind and vision, but a deeper, more grounded and embodied presence, drawing down to the lower cauldrons of my body - the heart and womb inner spaces.”
The Autumnal fruits of a truly love-driven project, two years in the making.
Six of seven unique designs, created in collaboration between oB and Botanical Inks.
Natural pigments foraged from wind fallen leaves of Oak and Sweet Chestnut, painted by hand on organic Khadi cotton.
Overdyed to a smokey-grey effect, shirt Six is a textural variation within the series featuring a darker, all-over wash. Catching the hand painted decoration within the treatment, horizontal and vertical lines adorn the front, reverse and either sleeve with subtle variations that add a personal effect and bring attention to the uniqueness of the design.
The cut is full and wide, yet not too oversized around the body. This shirt offers a flowing, generous fit with a back pleat detail emerging out of the narrow collar on the reverse, to create a structure that falls against the body.
Whilst the sleeves have been shaped narrower towards the forearm, the side seams have been rounded towards the front as to bring the seam lines down the arms and bodice. This encourages greater visibility of the hand-painted lines which meet playfully around this area; resulting in an interesting asymmetric effect.

“At this time of the year, the trees are emitting a bio-chemical fragrance, lulling the animals and creatures back into their safety to shelter from the elements and to winter in their warm embracing bows and roots.”
