oB: object/body
Playing in a realm between being naked and clothed…
oB seeks to create considered staple wear pieces that are intended to be engaging and playful contributions to our wardrobes. My intention is to create objects we can see befriending for years to come, that adapt and move with our changing bodies and styles.
The textile works emerge from my own processes of play and contemplation around themes of coming into nurturing relationship between object, craft, body and Earth. Exploring the tactile, emotional languages of garments and the stories that form through the processes of making them, the living with them and their transient life cycles.
Thankyou, I am so grateful to be challenged in creating things that demand the slow steadiness of a careful hand.
With much kindness,
Milly Melbourne
oB garments are all made in house in my small studio workshop using found tools and repurposed old sewing machines. Pieces are slowly hand worked with care and focus to finish, longevity and adaptability incorporating labor intensive historical garment making techniques and handpicking natural materials that offer a story to tell.
