Our Acres

oB was tenderly commissioned and invited to contribute to the project ‘Our Acres’ a deeply heartfelt bodily exploration and earthing of movement artist Solomon Berrio-Allen.
The garments we created were shaped by the rooted conversations we had around Solomon’s embodied themes. Steered by the balance and feel of wearing them and came into form as washed crumpled soft cotton canvases, marked with charcoal handprints, rolled up western vintage suits, raw un-finished edges and bare feet…

Solomon describes Our Acres as “opening thought and space to the abundant riches that the ancestors of the diaspora awoke, amongst the indelible colonial history it endured”.

Solomon is an artist of motion, choreographer, and movement facilitator working in the field of dance. His work spans across stage productions and film and he describes his practice as “unfolding the poetry and sensibilities of our human nature and connecting to the heartbeat of the world beyond”.
